Week 7&8: Status of Projects

I have continuously been working on the Boutier Winery website which has been my biggest task because I am producing it from scratch. The website is tedious and it sure has been developing my patience. I have created websites before, but not for public purposes, so I did not feel the pressure for perfection that I do now. Alongside that, I have been creating content and posting it to Instagram and Facebook. The skills I had before January were solely based on a natural eye for design and the twelve years I have been using and posting on my personal Instagram and Facebook accounts. I accepted this internship thinking I was fully capable of being successful, when in reality, I had no idea the depth of my ignorance. It has, truthfully, been very hard, but my communications classes have been making the process a lot easier. Doing this internship in tandem with the advertising and digital engagement classes has been a perfect setup. I am able to apply my communication skills in real time as I am learning them, which is awesome. With the help of my advertising and digital design class, I have learned how to use Adobe Illustrator and Indesign which I have since used to create posts for the winery’s pages. With the help of my Digital engagement class, I  have been able to understand and utilize the insight features Meta has available for business accounts on Facebook and Instagram to leverage my posts to gain more views and in turn pull more followers. Truthfully, at this point in the semester, motivation is at a low and burn out is peaking, so my projects have been simple, but I'm keeping consistent.

These are all photos I took, edited, created, and posted on Instagram and Facebook with the purpose to promote various events and deals and educate on wine pairings.
